Risk it for the Biscuit Semillion

FROM GRAPES TOO GOOD TO SAY NO

A favourite saying of The Boy’s is to ‘Risk it for the biscuit’, and when he stumbled upon a spectacular parcel of Barossa Valley Semillon, the reward to hero an oft-maligned varietal was a risk worth taking.

The fruit is sourced from the Southern Barossa. A portion of this Semillon was fermented in French hog sets, resulting in a balance of oak richness and fruit freshness whilst retaining its lively characters.

Bright, crisp and zesty, with notes of lemon curd, orange blossom and shortbread. Think lemonade icy pole with a creamy mouthfeel. Best enjoyed with Japanese cuisine. Okonomiyaki is one of The Boy’s favourite Japanese dishes!

An extremely limited release, sold exclusively online and at Cellar Door.

WHAT IS SEMILLON?

Pronounced Seh-mee-yon (you’re welcome!)

Unlike Semillon from other regions, Barossa Semillon is typically harvested early, resulting in a fresher, lighter-bodied wine with a lower alcohol content. Known for its crisp acidity and zesty citrus flavours, often with a grassy or herbal note, this wine is best consumed young and pairs well with seafood, salads, and other light dishes.
